Website Vision Goes Green - November 2007
Over the past few months we have been exploring ways in which we can provide great design and print solutions for our clients, whilst minimising the impact that printed material can have on the environment. We‘ve now taken many steps towards ’going green‘ and will continue to pursue new options as they become available. Our chosen printing partners have been awarded the ISO 14001 Environment Management Systems Award. All of the ink used is based on clean vegetable oil and supplied in eco-friendly packaging, as well as using on-site mixing technology allowing the mixing of colours as required to pin-point accuracy with waste being close to zero.
All of the paper used is sourced from European Union FSC grade forests where more trees are planted for the future than are felled each year. This exacting standard is seen in the industry as the Gold Standard for responsible husbandry of forests. In the last year alone, our suppliers planted many thousands of extra trees on our behalf! Our paper is also processed using Elemental Chlorine Free technology to avoid the production of damaging toxins.
Our chosen print partners also endeavour to maximise the use of energy saving solutions. After a top to bottom review conducted by the carbon trust, a number of new solutions have been implemented – from lights which turn themselves off when the sun shines, to motors which run up to 70% more efficiently.
